Entrepreneurship is a Fundamental Human Trait - You Can Become an Entrepreneur!

Just because you are not yet an entrepreneur does not mean you cannot become one!

Entrepreneurship is a fundamental human trait. What this means is that the basic human desire to be innovative and attempt new ventures is found among members of all cultures. It is part of what has ensured human survival, development and evolution. Hence, there is no genetic marker which impedes people of a given race, gender or culture from becoming entrepreneurs.

Modern scientist are finding evidence that among individuals the traits that we associate with entrepreneurship may be associated with some personality traits, such as extrovertion and openness to experience. However, such individual traits are insufficient to predict that an indidivudal will go into business. Rather, as in the case of artists or any other profession, the development of an entrepreneur requires preparation.

In other words, society, and that meand you and I, need to MAKE entrepreneurs.

We do this by educating ourselves and our children to learn how to become businesspeople, to engage in practical learning experiences in which they can succeed or fail, to join groups and organizations that foster the development of entrepreneurial skills, to advocate for educational reforms that are going to ensure that the knowledge, abilities and skills being taught are leading edge and relevant to today's economic reality.

In the case of adults, it means that it is never too late to learn how to become an entrepreneur. As an individual, we may not achieve the same level of success as the multi-billionaires that populate the Fortune 500, but we may very well accomplish much more than what we had imagined or anticipated.

Part of the appeal of entrepreneurship is that the experience of being an entrepreneur permits us to learn many new things about ourselves.

Even if you only have a tiny desire within you to go into business, do not crush or neglect that hope for a better future. Tread carefully and proceed gradually if you must, but do not deny yourself the possibility of a better life and a brighter future.

If you are already an active entrepreneur, do not stop learning or developing your skills, abiliites and knowledge. When we stop learning, we begin to die.
